The Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services (ERDs) provide the moral and theological framework guiding Catholic hospitals and health systems in their mission of healing. These directives reflect the Church’s deep commitment to human dignity, the common good and faithful stewardship within the evolving landscape of modern medicine. As science advances and societal questions shift, the guidance supporting Catholic health ministry must also adapt. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has released the seventh edition of the ERDs, marking a significant revision to this foundational document.
The purpose of this webinar is to help participants gain a deeper understanding of the recent updates to the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services (ERDs).
Participants will learn:
- What the ERDs are and why they were revised
- Key changes in the latest edition
- Emerging themes shaping Catholic health care today
