Description
Pope Francis has described artificial intelligence as “an exciting and fearsome tool.” This webinar highlights key theological and ethical values, virtues and principles essential for evaluating the adoption and use of AI in Catholic health.
Dr. Daly's presentation focuses on what he sees as four key theological and ethical themes from Pope Francis’s writings on AI:
- A theological portrait of the human person
- A substantive account of human flourishing
- The importance of encounter and relationship in health care
- Concern for those who are poor and vulnerable
Dr. Daly illustrates these core concepts by drawing on Scripture, especially the healings of Jesus, and the theological tradition. The presentation will conclude with a question-and-answer segment.
This webinar was the first in a four-part series on AI ethics featuring the Center for Theology and Ethics in Catholic Health.
